TechBridge Supporters Complete 4th Annual Technology Community Habitat for Humanity House
For the fourth consecutive year TechBridge, Atlanta's NPower program, coordinated volunteers from the information technology (IT) groups of fifteen corporate sponsors to construct a new home for a deserving Atlanta family.
Joining forces with Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, the Technology Habitat House building project kicked off on April 17, 2008 at the home’s site on Third Avenue in Atlanta. Through a sponsorship program managed by TechBridge, the corporate sponsors pooled resources to raise more than $75,000 to build the Technology Community Habitat House and combined employees to fill each of the seven build days. Dedication services for the Technology Community Habitat House were held May 17, 2008.
“TechBridge is honored to provide project management services for this effort and to work with Habitat for Humanity,” said TechBridge CEO, Jack McMillan. “The generosity of the technology community in Atlanta enables TechBridge to provide critical technology services to the nonprofits we serve, and these houses are a tangible tribute to their involvement in the community.”
The 2008 Technology Habitat House sponsors include: AGL Resources, Alliance Data Systems, CCCi, ChoicePoint, Inc., The Coca-Cola Company, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, GE Infrastructure, Intellinet, Microsoft, Pyramid Consulting, Sapient, Satyam,
Southern Company, Synergis, and Tata Consultancy Services.
Keeping with the technology theme, the Technology Community Habitat for Humanity House was even outfitted with a family computer donated by Hewlett Packard, and a computer desk and printer donated by the house sponsors.
