Connecting a Furniture Bank to Donors
The Dallas Furniture Bank wanted to communicate more effectively with donors and member service organizations by improving their Web site's capacity for interaction, mainly through adding online forms.
Challenge
The Dallas Furniture Bank wanted to communicate more effectively with donors and member service organizations by improving their Web site's capacity for interaction, mainly through adding online forms. The Furniture Bank also wanted a better way to process online donations to the organization.
Solution
NPower Texas helped the Furniture Bank meet their goals by converting their volunteer, member agency and client referral forms from hard copy documents to forms that can be completed online. NPower Texas also leveraged an online fundraising tool to process donations directly from the Furniture Bank's Web site.
NPower Texas applied cascading style sheets to optimize the site for search engines in order to increase the number of visitors and cleaned up redundant code on the backend, making the site easier to update. Additionally, NPower Texas implemented a tool that generates statistics about Web site visitors, allowing the Furniture Bank to measure and analyze online traffic for marketing purposes.
NPower Texas also introduced the Furniture Bank to our administrative sponsor, the Aidmatrix Foundation whose humanitarian aid inventory management system, will be implemented at the Furniture Bank. Through our relationship, the Furniture Bank received the Aidmatrix solutions, customized for their unique needs, providing only a 10% agency co-pay and their expertise to further the quality of the Aidmatrix solutions.
Impact
Applications that had to be faxed or mailed and processed manually are now received by e-mail. The online forms streamline processes so that Furniture Bank staff can focus on receiving donations versus sorting paperwork. Donations are also processed online allowing visitors an additional option to support the Furniture Bank.
"The Web site looks so good and very easy to navigate. It's simplistic, user-friendly and has an inviting appeal. Hats off to you and your team! We know that as our needs grow, we will need future enhancements. You are our go-to group!"
