Training

Our mission is to help all non-profits access and use technology to enhance performance and expand the reach and impact of their services. We feel strongly that investing in technology without investing in staff is like buying a car and not learning to drive!

About Our Training

NPower PA's training team offers top-notch classes that are focused and priced for nonprofits. We collaborate with other NPower affiliates around the country to develop the best classes and curriculum for nonprofit staff. Our training program is designed to teach nonprofit staff to use technology effectively in order to reach the mission of your organization and ultimately benefit the Philadelphia area community.

Who May Take a Class?

NPower PA's training is open to staff, and volunteers who play a key role, at 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (excluding places of worship) in the metropolitan Philadelphia area.

Staff and volunteers of other 501(c)(3) organizations (including nonprofit educational institutions, associations, civic leagues, clubs, etc.) may also register for training on a stand-by basis at nonmember rates.

Training is even more affordable for NPower PA members who pay discounted rates.

The Classes

Our Open Enrollment training classes are designed for the nonprofit user at basic, intermediate and advanced levels. NPower training staff have developed curriculum that meets the nonprofit workforce duties. Classes are either half day (3.5 hours) or full day (7 hours) depending on the topic. Multi-session classes are also offered.

We offer training in our 12-person computer lab for commonly used applications including: Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, Dreamweaver, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerPoint.

We also offer Accidental Techie classes for those nonprofit professionals who would like some more formal technology training to beef up their extra-curricular duties. Basic Networking and Basic Network Administration are just a couple of examples of the Accidental Techie classes that we offer.

We are continually developing new courses to suit the need of nonprofit staff such as Fundraising for Technology, Effective Grant writing using MS Office and Combating Spyware.

Private Training classes are also available at NPower! Bring up to 12 staff from your organization to our classroom for any of our classes. This is a great option for organizations that have recently installed new software or added new staff. Special pricing applies.
