Technical Analysis and Customer Relations

NPower Pennsylvania is a nonprofit computer consulting firm that works with over 220 premier nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia area.  Our team of technology consultants helps nonprofits understand, make use of, and implement key technologies that further their mission.  We are looking for a dynamic individual to help nonprofits identify and implement the software systems they need to effectively carry out their day to day business.  The successful candidate will work as part of our consulting team, using their knowledge of computer software and systems to help the entire Philadelphia nonprofit community.

The Technical Implementation Consultant will work with nonprofit organizations to identify their key business processes and investigate and select the best technical solution(s) that suit their needs. This position incorporates staff and key stakeholder interviews, analyzing existing work flow and systems, fostering relationships with vendors, and reviewing product demonstrations. Applicants must be able to prepare Functional Requirements documents and provide the knowledge and expertise needed to implement software solutions.

Ideal candidates will be degree qualified and have a high level of comfort in data management and business analysis.  The candidate should have exceptional customer relations skills. Understanding of organizational dynamics is a plus as is experience in a nonprofit organization

Duties & Requirements

Requirements:

?         Strong Systems Analyst skills. Job duties include conducting business needs requirements for software systems and writing functional requirements documents, use cases, and RFPs.

?         Strong ability to research and investigate relevant technology solutions to meet the business needs and budget constraints of the client.

?         Strong passion for nonprofits and a understanding of non-profit business flow including fundraising, client/case management, volunteer and program tracking.

?         Must be detail oriented and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

?         Technical skills:

    • Database: knowledge of database technologies including MS Access (97, 2000, XP, 2003), VB, SQL
    • Web: knowledge of Internet technologies including hosted applications using ASP.Net, MySQL, or Oracle

We are seeking candidates who understand how nonprofits, particularly social service organizations, work.  Candidates need to have experience with database use and have a good understanding of data relationships, integration and reporting.

For example, you may work with a nonprofit whose mission is to increase college admission and graduation rates for disadvantaged students.  Your job would be to identify a system that can track student grades, outcomes of an after school program, mentoring initiatives, supportive services, etc.  You will then implement the system for the client by customizing the solution to their needs and help train staff on its use.

Specific products that NPower PA clients have implemented in the past include Netsuite, ETO Social Solutions, E-Tapestry, Raisers Edge, Salesforce, Donor Perfect, Convio, and custom web-based solutions among others.
