Position Title:  Senior Network Implementation Consultant

 

Reports to: Director of Technology Services

  

Position Description NPower PA is seeking a Senior Level Consultant that can help us build dynamic network infrastructures for Philadelphia area non profits.  This position should enhance and augment our current talent pool of Network Engineers and Data Management Consultants by providing skills in collaborative technologies such as intranet, SharePoint, and/or Groove. 

This consultant will work with NPower PA clients to plan, implement and support technology solutions both in-person and remotely.  Primary responsibility is working with non profits to develop and implement networking environments that help the organization meet their mission.  The technology solutions need to provide the non profit staff with the ability to work collaboratively in a stable and secure network environment.  The consultant will produce project plans and specifications, communicate with the client throughout the project, and implement the solution as part of a team. 

The qualified candidate must have a passion for nonprofits, excellent customer service skills, excellent written and verbal skills, and 3-5 years professional field support experience in the implementation of technology solutions.  The candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including Windows 9x, NT, 2000 (server and professional), 2003 server and XP.  Hands-on experience with Windows 2003, Small Business Server 2003, Active Directory, Exchange 2000/2003, and Terminal Services is a must.  Configuration of routers, firewalls and VPNs in various settings (DSL, wireless, T1) is required, relevant certifications are preferred.  The ideal candidate will have experience combining network infrastructure with collaboration systems such as MS SharePoint and Groove.

Position is based in center city Philadelphia and supports non profit clients in the 5 county area.

 

Must have reliable transportation.

Essential Functions/Work Responsibilities

 

Work on consulting engagements for clients

  • Works with client to develop technology solutions that will achieve their goals within budget.
  • Works with client to create a project plan including timeline and deliverables
  • Maintains a consistent schedule with clients and develops relationships and schedules with new clients.
  • Maintains good client contact by phone and email
  • Works in independently or in teams with other NPower consultants to implement network configuration projects.
  • Provides comprehensive documentation for all site visits and other billable work.
  • Supervises interns and oversees their development. 
  • Documents all work in a manner that allows repeatability for future engagements and for possible publication and free distribution to the non-profit community.
  • Stays abreast of the latest technological changes in focus area by attending training and keeping abreast of the current literature.
  • Grows skill area as needed by non-profits.
  • Refers appropriate business to other services offered by NPower or to outside resources when appropriate.
  • Tests possible technology solutions that may benefit the wider non-profit audience.

Teamwork

  • Assists the other NPower staff with occasional agency-wide events.
  • Assists the NPower staff with other internal administrative projects as directed by direct supervisor. 
  • Understand and be able to explain all of NPower?s services fluently.

 

Administration

  • Enters all client communications, interactions, billing, and scheduling information in the NPower information systems databases per instruction. (NetSuite)
  • Assists in the common in-office responsibilities of:
    • Keeping the office neat and professional looking.
    • Answering phones when in the office and not working exclusively on a project deadline.
    • Answering client phone or in office inquiries as needed.

Salary & Benefits

Salary $58,000 a year plus generous benefits package (negotiable for exceptionally qualified candidates)
