Technology Consultant

NPower Pennsylvania is a nonprofit computer consulting firm that works exclusively with other nonprofits.  We currently support the technology needs of over 225 premier nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia area and we are adding new organizations each day.  NPower provides nonprofits with with high quality, low cost technology services; services that are otherwise unaffordable or unavailable to them.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to work with NPower PA's clients, implementing technology solutions both in-person and remotely.  The qualified candidate must have a passion for nonprofits, excellent customer service skills, and excellent written and verbal skills.

This successful candidate will become a part of our highly-skilled technology implimentation team.  This team is dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations understand, make use of, and implement key technologies that further their mission.

Technical skill must include 3-5 years professional field support experience implementing technology solutions; a working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including Windows 9x, NT, 2000 (server and professional), 2003 server and XP; hands-on experience with Active Directory, Exchange 2000/2003, and Terminal Services; experience configuring routers, firewalls and VPNs in various settings (DSL, wireless, T1); a working knowledge of Novell Netware. 

This is an extremely rare opportunity to use your knowledge of technology to make a difference in the greater Philadelphia nonprofit community.  Spanish fluency is a plus.  No evening or weekend on-call duties. This position is based in center city Philadelphia and includes service delivery to Delaware, Montgomery, Lower Bucks, Philadelphia and Camden counties.

Duties

Essential Functions/Work Responsibilities

  • Works with agency contact to maintain computing environment as described in Scheduled Support contract agreement.
  • Successfully transfers knowledge to agency contact where appropriate
  • Maintains a consistent schedule with clients and develops relationships and schedules with new clients.
  • Maintains good client contact by phone and email
  • Works in independently or in teams with other NPower consultants to implement network configuration projects.
  • Provides comprehensive documentation for all site visits and other billable work.
  • Supervises interns and oversees their development. 
  • Documents all work in a manner that allows repeatability for future engagements and for possible publication and free distribution to the non-profit community.
  • Stays abreast of the latest technological changes in focus area by attending training and keeping abreast of the current literature.
  • Grows skill area as needed by non-profits.
  • Refers appropriate business to other services offered by NPower or to outside resources when appropriate.
  • Tests possible technology solutions that may benefit the wider non-profit audience.
    Teamwork
  • Assists the other NPower staff with occasional agency-wide events.
  • Assists the NPower staff with other internal administrative projects as directed by direct supervisor. 
  • Understand and be able to explain all of NPower?s services fluently.
    Administration
  • Enters all client communications, interactions, billing, and scheduling information in the NPower information systems databases per instruction. (NetSuite)

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this position is $45,000 a year plus generous benefits package (negotiable for exceptionally qualified candidates).
