The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House provides a "home-away-from-home" for families of children suffering from life-threatening illnesses. NPower PA helps these families maintain a sense of normalcy in a time of crisis by providing them with the technology they need to stay connected.
Before partnering with NPower PA, Ronald McDonald House lacked the necessary technology to support staff and families in the house. Parents were struggling to continue working while caring for kids away from home and there was no way to work remotely.
The parent of a child with a brain tumor put into perspective the significance of this challenge. “Suddenly,” she explained, “in the middle of this medical nightmare, you find yourself having the most incredible reliance on technology.”
NPower PA helped by installing kid-friendly work stations, a wireless network for visiting parents, and web-based tools allowing parents and children to connect while they were apart.
