Foundation Support

Private, community and family foundation partners provide ongoing program support. This funding is provided in the form of general operating support and restricted grants which we use to lower the cost of our services to the nonprofit sector and to launch new programs and initiatives.

Increasingly, foundation leaders are turning to NPower to implement another kind of partnership model: one that targets NPower's expertise and provides technology solutions to their grantees.

• One example of this is our work with the William Penn Foundation's Youth Development Initiative to provide data managment and outcomes measurement tools to over 40 grantees in 4 communities. The data collected is being used to track the beneficiaries of after school programs throughout the region.  This project will lead to better program design and more targeted opportunites to improve the lives of young people.
  
• NPower PA provides 12 Technology Assessments per year free of charge to nonprofits through the help of the Lincoln Financial Group Foundation.  Technology Assessments are an important planning document for organizations considering improvements to their technology infrastructure. 
• Reed Elsevier, in London England, has provided NPower PA with two grants to install and maintain computer labs at Girls Inc. of Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey and the Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia.  These labs are being used to teach young people in low-income neighborhoods the technology skills they will need to succeed in the modern workplace.

In this way, everyone wins: NPower is able to broaden and sustain its impact on the nonprofit sector, foundation leaders are assured that their grantees will have the IT capacity to deliver on and report about their promised goals and objectives, and nonprofits can access NPower solutions that might otherwise be out of their reach.  To learn more please visit our Services for Grantees section.
